Campaign against Climate Change meeting.

The CCC-Scotland groups are holding a meeting to plan future events, to talk about the CCC meeting in London that happened on the 11th and to make sure that Scotland is adequately represented in this growing movement.
Sat 25th Feb
12pm - 4pm
Brae's Bar ,
Perth Road,
(opposite Dundee university tower block)
We have two key areas to discuss:
1. Activating and Growing CCC groups.
2.The role of these groups, including working with other groups.
Bearing these matters of discussion in mind we are looking for people to represent each of the CCC-Scotland groups; Edn, Glgw, Dundee, Aberdeen. We are also keen that anyone involved in Stop Climate Chaos affiliated groups comes along so we can work together.

A ZNET article that's a good reminder of the major events from the past year

Goliath and David

There's another good review here by the same author, Rebecca Solnit, which is slightly more US-centric, focussing on the Ivory Billed Woodpecker, Cindy Sheehan and Hurricane Katrina

CCC-Aberdeen journey to Edinburgh

The Edinburgh march was a great success with around 400 people in attendance. The mood for action was very posotive and, speaking for CCC-Aberdeen here, i think we where all heartened to se such a motivated group of people, and we are all ready to get back on the campaign and start raising awareness locally.

The rally ended at the scottish parliment building where we heard Mark Ballard(green party), Mark Lazarowicz (labour) , Duncan McLaren (foe) and Ruth Cameron (Edinburgh student union) speak about the importance of action on climate change and, specifically, of our campaign.

The talks can be listened to here.

For more information about the campaign against climate change, which held demos in >30 countries worldwide, check out "Climate Change Campaign"
